We’re Recruiting for 48 Thoughts Per Minute!
We’re looking for two performers and recruiting the stage management and technical team for our upcoming UK tour of 48 Thoughts Per Minute. We’re really excited to be taking this new show on the road and are looking for brilliant people to join us in bringing it to life.
48 Thoughts Per Minute is a playful and heartfelt show about the busy, chaotic, wonderful workings of the human mind. Created by The Paper Birds and Jessica Fostekew, the production combines performance, movement, music, live audience interaction and visual storytelling, to explore what happens inside our heads.
Performer Roles
We are looking for two professional actors who can bring a strong sense of play, collaboration and comic timing to the work. Performers will be comfortable with, or have experience in:
- Movement/Physical Theatre
- Ensemble work
- Multi-rolling, including changing confidently between different accents
- Comedy
- Live and interactive moments with an audience/improvisation.
The performers will play the following named characters, as well as multi-rolling across several additional roles within the production. This is a highly visual and often physical show where the performers move in and out of acting and non-acting, converse with the audience and are active stage hands as the show portrays a range of internal experiences.
For the role of “Dan”: Male actor, playing age mid–late 30s, of Black or South Asian heritage.
For the Role of “Suze” & “Dawn”: Female White actor, playing age late 30s–early 40s.

To be eligible for this opportunity you must be aged 18 or over and have trained as an actor or have professional (paid) acting experience, and hold the right to work in the UK.

- A self-tape of maximum 2 minutes, introducing yourself, a couple of lines of why you’d like to be involved in 48 Thoughts Per Minute, as well as, in brief, how your experience fits our desired skills set, namely: movement/ physical theatre, ensemble work, multi-rolling, comedy/comic acting, live and interactive moments with an audience/ improvisation. It can be filmed on phone or tablet. It does not need to be perfect or professionally edited, we just want to see you and hear you clearly.
